During the COVID pandemic, care homes have faced the consistent difficulty of allowing family members to visit their elderly relatives. The risk of infection in the elderly is much higher and therefore protective measurements must be in place to protect all our residents and staff. Although throughout the pandemic our homes have had strict regulations in place to ensure the safety of all our residents and staff including, PPE, stringent cleaning, and regular testing for both our residents and staff. 

Hazel End care home have now introduced glass partitions which will be from the floor to ceiling. They have been installed in an unoccupied resident room and our designated visiting area. This is to continue facilitating visiting without risking COVID-19 passing between residents and their loved ones, there is no thru-air flow, therefore, no transmission of germs or dust. All glass partitions include intercom systems to make communication easier and as an added precaution family members will still only be able to visit through pre booked slots.
