Marham House is a newly built residential care home in Bury St Edmunds. It supplies 24-hour care within buildings that have been purposefully designed for the elderly.
Marham House’s facilities include spacious and luxurious social areas, stylish décor and secure gardens and grounds that are open to all guests and residents. All 66 bedrooms are en-suite, giving our residents an independent lifestyle while at the same time supporting their needs. In this way, our staff can deliver person-centred care in a dignified, understated way.
We believe that no one should come into our home unless we are going to be able to make their lives better, make their days easier and support them in leading the life they choose to lead.

We understand when moving into a new home residents want certainty and security. From our experience, "billable extras" are an unnecessary irritation, so we don’t have any.
Everything is included in our residents’ fixed, inclusive fee. This fixed fee makes living with us easy. Residents can enjoy that glass of wine or beer with their meal, embrace the pampering and regular hair treatments in the salon or take a trip out of the home with the Lifestyle team, all of this is included.
Dedicated team delivering Person Centered Care
Our residents' comfort, well-being and safety are of the utmost importance to us. All of our new residents are welcomed with a tailored, individual care plan, covering everything from their daily medication requirements to the food and hobbies they enjoy most. This care plan is continuously updated throughout their time living at Marham House.
Garden room
This room has easy access to the garden and provides a bright and welcoming space. Available for to sit and enjoy the sunshine from the floor to ceiling windows or maybe partake in some indoor/outdoor planting, either way it has a very relaxing feel to it.
Library
Our library provides a quaint and peaceful spot on the 2nd floor where residents can enjoy a game of chess, read a book, or just sit out and enjoy the fresh air from the balcony.
Landscaped Gardens
Our gardens are landscaped and designed to be accessible for all, with flat even surfaces and raised beds to promote independence and somewhere to sit and watch the world go by. Our garden areas have been thoughtfully planned to encourage everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
Cinema Room
Our cinema room is great for catching up on favourite programmes or just relaxing with a film. The room is multi-purpose and can easily be converted to a games room or other communal use. We can also arrange to set up a screen for Skype calls with loved ones.

Lovely tea and cakes
I spent an enjoyable three hours at The Mad Hatters Tea Party. There was plenty of lovely tea and cakes. The staff had worked so hard. The tables looked authentic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Good to feel safe, cared for and treated with respect.
I used this care home for respite after a nasty fall. I found it a very helpful and pleasant 2-week stay. Kind, cheerful and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Pleasant, bright rooms, nicely decorated and furnished. Friends and relatives always made welcome, cleanliness good. Activities got me joining in, I loved the whole experience.

Residential & Respite Care
Our staff are equipped with the latest technology enabling them to view and update care records instantly; allowing them to devote more of their time to listen and respond to residents' needs. Our friendly, well-trained staff understand that every individual has different needs, therefore we take the extra time to get to know everyone's likes, dislikes, passions and hobbies. In doing this we can support and care for individuals in the best and most comfortable way. We are also able to accommodate those looking for short-term, respite stays (subject to availability).
Dementia Care
Living with dementia can be a very difficult and lonely experience; our home provides the care and support needed to ensure it doesn't have to be that way. All staff undergo a training course to provide them with insight into the various forms of dementia and the complexities that can sometimes go along with it. Residents living with dementia receive the patience, empathy and dignity they require in order to sustain their overall well-being.
Technology
Person Centred Software (PCS) is available to our staff through a handheld device similar to a mobile phone and plays an integral part to our care delivery. PCS enables our team to stay up to date; by the hour, on any changes to an individual's care needs or requirements. By improving efficiency within our staff teams, they can spend their time where it is most important and that is with our residents.
