Hazel End decided to mark the end of summer and the glorious weather with one last garden party, 80s style! Staff and residents put on their best 80s gear and headed to the garden where they spent the afternoon, laughing, drinking, and enjoying life.
Residents were treated to chicken in a basket, a fun, retro, light meal, whilst listening to Keeley Smith who provided the afternoon’s entertainment, singing some favourite 80s classics.
The rest of the afternoon was spent reminiscing on the 80s and the memories residents and staff had from that time. Followed by an 80s themed disco, with disco balls, cocktails, music, and accessories. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the residents had an unforgettable afternoon.
Alicia marketing manager commented, “It is wonderful to see how much effort the staff make daily to go the extra mile for our residents. The residents had a fantastic afternoon they thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the staff dressed up. The singer had a brilliant voice, and it was great to see the residents so engaged and having fun”.
Daniel Operations Director stated “As part of Hazel End’s journey through the decades, today we have been celebrating the 80’s (my personal favourite decade). As always it is inspiring to see each team member taking the 80’s style by storm to entertain the residents. Residents have fully embraced the party and the energy in the home today is palpable. In the words of Ferris Bueller – ‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around, once in a while you could miss it – we are certainly enjoying life here at Hazel End and are looking forward to the fun yet to come.”
Allison Home Manager said “A massive thank you to Keeley for joining us and providing some fantastic socially distanced entertainment and for brightening our day up. Lots of fun for both residents and staff”.
At Hazel End, we believe that our residents’ lives should be enriched by their time living at Hazel End. Our philosophy is that no one should come into our home unless we can make their lives better, making their days easier and supporting them in a way that lets them lead the life they want to lead.
