When residents at Marham House Care Home, had their weekly resident meeting, it was picked up that there were several comments about missing a Chinese takeaway. As residents are unable to leave the care home during the current restrictions, staff at Marham House Care Home hosted a Chinese takeaway event, on the 15th of October, bringing the experience to them. The lounge/dining area of Marham House was transformed into a beautiful Chinese restaurant, with tablecloths, lanterns, lucky cats, fortune cookies, ceiling decorations and chop sticks.

The residents were provided with a Chinese Menu from which they could choose their favourite dishes, this was then served in fine dining style.

One resident commented “It has made a lovely change to have Chinese for dinner” followed by another resident who stated “A big thank you for the staffs hard work in making another fantastic evening”

Lifestyle Manager Jackie said “It was our pleasure to make this a reality for them, with the ambience of a Chinese restaurant. The evening was a great success. An Indian takeaway has now been mentioned”.

Here at Marham House, we have remained Covid-19 free throughout this pandemic and are continuing to update our policies and procedures following latest Government and Public Health guidelines to ensure we remain safe.
