Hazel End Care Home takes on the popular tv show, watched by millions every single night
14.3 Million of viewers have been tuning in every night, to watch their favourite celebrities take on horrendous challenges, tasked by the nations favourite Ant and Dec. At Hazel End Care Home staff wanted to take on their own spin off from the show and decided to take on their own challenges for the residents to watch and also join in themselves.
The first round of gruesome bush tucker trials consisted of eating crickets, mealworms, locusts, chilli chocolate, chilli challenge and jellybean challenge. Staff were then faced with drinking a cockroach smoothie and fish gut juice (tuna and milk smoothie) disgusting!!
The challenges continued with “What’s in the box trial” and “Face your fears” where staff had to put their faces in gross jelly mix to retrieve the stars.
Finally, the morning finished with a “Hellish hand dive” a race to see who can get the most stars whilst staff put their hands in, as you can probably guess gruesome stuff.
Our seriously brave residents even got involved and tried the creepy crawlies plus chilli challenges to win stars.
Congratulations to our amazing Care Assistant Andreia who was the winner, collecting the most stars.
One resident commented “The crickets were nice and crunchy and would go well with a nice glass of wine.”
Francesca care assistant at Hazel End said “I needed to go and hunt down a toothbrush to get rid of the dog food, jellybean taste”
