Residents at Hazel End hosted a baby shower on Monday 12th October for housekeeper Sophie Edwards. A group of residents took it upon themselves to start a secret project in their knitting club, and asked residents and staff of Hazel End to each knit a blue square, which was then put together to create a blanket for Sophie’s baby boy.
The cakes and room were decorated by our lovely residents who spent the afternoon, playing baby shower games. Guess the weight of the baby, how much wool would it take to get around the bump, and baby bingo.
Sophie commented “Oh it was such a lovely surprise! I knew they was planning a little something but was not expecting it to be the way it was! It really meant a lot to me that staff and the residents got involved and planned something like that for me as outside of work I cannot really plan anything. We definitely had a lot of laughs, I will always remember the afternoon, that’s for sure.”
Deputy Manager Louise stated “It was such an amazing experience, to share an afternoon with residents and staff celebrating the upcoming arrival of a new addition to Hazel End. The residents are very excited to meet the little chap.”
Here at Hazel End, we have remained Covid-19 free throughout this pandemic and are continuing to update our policies and procedures following latest Government and Public Health guidelines to ensure we remain safe.
