On Friday 9th October, Marham House celebrated the Harvest Festival with a special church service conducted by our very own resident, Reverend Russel. Mr Russel was a vicar for 51 years and planned a full mornings service for his fellow residents. The service started with a selection of Mr Russel’s favourite hymns including “We Plough the fields in scatter” “Let Us, with a Gladsome Mind” “Come, Ye Thankful Mind, Come”. This was followed with a bible reading, John chapter 6 1-14, new prayers in relation to COVID19 and reflections. Residents were then asked to join Reverend Russel for tea, coffee and cake afterwards.
Mr Russel now resides at Marham House Care Home, with his wife Mrs Russel, the couple have been married for 36 years, and are enjoying their new lifestyle at Marham House.
Marham House put out a lovely display of fruit and vegetables to celebrate the festival, which is a Christian reminder of all good things God gives us. In Britain we have given thanks since early Pagan times.
At Marham House, we are honored to have our very own Reverend, who can offer these services to our residents. Everyone involved had a wonderful morning, celebrating and giving thanks for all they are grateful for.
Marham House Care Home aims to help older people live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives. By doing so, we hope that we give peace of mind to our residents’ families, who have entrusted us with the care of their loved ones. The happiness, safety and needs of our residents are at the heart of everything that we do at Halcyon Care Homes. By providing the right level of support and quality care that each resident needs, while at the same time respecting their dignity and independence, we make sure that Hazel End facilitates a better standard of life.
